Otic Group is a wholly Australian-owned consulting firm based in Melbourne, committed to helping clients design and build intelligent software solutions that unlock business value. We specialise in Project Delivery, Data & Analytics, Cloud Strategy, Application Modernisation, and Cybersecurity.

We're seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect to engage with our distinguished clientele. You'll translate stakeholder needs into architectural blueprints, drive best-practice cloud migrations and deployments, and provide technical leadership across delivery cycles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements and design AWS cloud solutions.
  • Produce architecture artifacts—diagrams, documentation, reference designs—aligned to clients' strategic architectures and best practices.
  • Lead migrations and modern deployments to AWS using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Architect scalable, secure, and performant environments with services such as EC2, VPC, Lambda, S3, RDS, ECS/EKS, and associated ecosystem components.
  • Guide development teams, providing mentorship and ensuring consistency in architecture and implementation.
  • Drive cost optimisation strategies (e.g., reserved instances, auto-scaling), security, and governance practices.
  • Stay current with AWS innovations and industry trends, and showcase that thought leadership internally and to clients.

Key Requirements

  • 5+ years in architecture or design roles, with a minimum of 10 years in technology-related positions (mirroring Otic's expectations)
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS platforms (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, ECS/EKS, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code: Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Experience with containerisation and serverless paradigms.
  • Knowledge of microservices, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native patterns.
  • Excellent communicator; able to create clear architectural documentation and engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Consulting or client-facing experience is highly desirable.
  • Based in Melbourne, with Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or full work rights required
