About the role
The Yarra Ranges is home to a thriving agri-food sector that plays a vital role in the region's economy, employment, and community wellbeing. As the Economic Development Program Lead for Agri-Food Futures, you will champion and support the development and transformation of this sector, focusing on regenerative agriculture, agroecology, food innovation, agri-tech, and land diversification.
This new role sits within the Economic Development and Investment Team and works across Council, the sector, and our business community to drive future-focused initiatives that build resilience, sustainability, and regional capability. You will lead strategic new future focused projects in the Agri-Food sector, such as the development of a Centre of Excellence & Innovation Hub, facilitate pilot programs, industry development opportunities, and foster collaboration across growers, traditional owners, food producers, educators, and government.
This is a full-time permanent Band 7 role with a salary range rate between $107,314 and $120,084 per annum, plus superannuation.

Experience and skills we're looking for
Experience in agri-food systems, regenerative agriculture, or food innovation.
Strong strategic planning and project delivery skills.
Ability to conduct market analysis and develop investment proposals.
Skills in stakeholder engagement and co-design processes.
Knowledge of economic development and regional innovation.
Effective communicator with advocacy and reporting experience.
Proven success in securing funding and managing grants.
Great organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with diverse customers.
