About the Role

We're looking for a Design & Social Media Coordinator to join our in-house marketing crew on the Gold Coast.

This is a creative and fast-paced role where you'll help shape how our brands connect with surfers across Australia. It's ideal for a designer or creative looking to launch or grow their career in the surf industry.

You'll be working closely with the marketing senior team to create digital and print assets, develop engaging social media content, and bring fresh ideas to how we connect with our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow the marketing calendar, execute creative briefs and support campaign direction to deliver high-quality campaign assets.
  • Create short-form video content and assist with content shoots.
  • Manage day-to-day posting and community engagement across our social channels.
  • Assist with product uploads, descriptions, and merchandising on our website.
  • Design and produce digital and print materials - including social content, EDMs, and website graphics.
  • Copywrite captions and short content pieces for campaigns and blogs.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to bring campaigns and brand stories to life.
  • Support brand activations and events across Surfboard Empire and partner brands.
About You

We're after someone passionate about surfing and tuned into surf culture - a creative thinker with strong design instincts and the drive to make things happen.

You'll bring:

  • A keen eye for design, layout, and detail.
  • A fast learner with strong creative and technical skills.
  • Strong understanding of surf culture and visual storytelling.
  • Strong experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in video editing with Premiere Pro or similar software, including basic motion graphics and colour correction.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on social media management experience, including content planning and community engagement
  • Basic understanding of social media analytics and ability to track engagement metrics and campaign performance
  • Great communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence in front of the camera and strong communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and eagerness to grow.
  • (Highly desirable but not required) Familiarity with Shopify or eCommerce platforms.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Tertiary qualification in Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred (graduates with strong portfolios encouraged to apply).
  • Must have full working rights in Australia (Australian citizen, permanent resident, or valid work visa)
