About the role

Provide leadership, expertise and strategic advice in the development and ongoing management of property leases and licences to maximise and enhance the value of the department's property portfolio and assets and ensure compliance with relevant legislative, governance, commercial and policy requirements.

This role sits within the Community Infrastructure team, a specialist team responsible for sharing school and community assets through commercial and community arrangements that support education delivery and broader community benefit.

About you

  • Skilled in drafting, negotiating and managing lease and licence agreements within tight timeframes and at scale.
  • Confident in applying commercial property expertise to maximise value across diverse and complex portfolios.
  • Experienced in developing and implementing documentation, policies and procedures to support compliance and consistency.
  • Adept at engaging, influencing and managing relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of commercial infrastructure and property processes.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in property management, business, or a related discipline and/or demonstrated equivalent professional experience in servicing a large and complex property asset portfolio.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
