**About the role**
We have an opportunity for a **Band Member - Musician (French Horn) **to be part of our New South Wales Police Band, Public Affairs Branch team. The Band Member contributes to the positive promotion of the NSWPF through community engagement by performing as a musician in the NSW Police Band (a Wind Orchestra) and its various ensembles.
- This position attracts an allowance for doubling on a second musical instrument as well as a weekly laundry allowance._

**Target Question 1**:
In addition to the required consistent and ongoing professional level of performance, a musician in the NSW Police Band must have the capacity to meet key challenges of the work which include: - a high level of commitment, accountability, punctuality, deportment and
presentation; having an adaptable approach to performance in a variety of settings including less than desirable indoor and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions (including prolonged periods of standing and marching in those conditions); actively participating in
the logístical and administrative functions of the Band, as well as being able to interact with police officers, youth and members of the community in a positive and professional way; and finally, being able to foster positive workplace interactions within a large and diverse musical
team.
Demonstrate how your life and/or workplace experiences can be adapted to successfully meet these and other key non-musical challenges.
**Target Question 2**:
It is highly desirable that a musician possesses an additional skill set that can be adapted to contribute to the promotional, logístical, and administrative functions of the Band, skills and knowledge like holding a Medium and Light Rigid Driver's Licence, arranging, composition, (Sibelius software) internet/social media, recording/sound (Mac computer experience), instrument repair, video, photography, and graphic arts are just some examples.
