Key Responsibilities:

This is a full-time on-site role for a
Trainer and Assessor (Certificate IV or Diploma of Laboratory Technology)
located in
Melbourne, Australia
. The Trainer and Assessor will be responsible for delivering high-quality training and assessment in Laboratory Technology at the diploma level.

Course Development

  • Develop study and training materials (e.g., learning notes, learner guides, workbooks).
  • Develop assessment tools (e.g., assessor guides, marking criteria).

Training

  • Deliver training to students in the assigned units of competency (face-to-face and/or online as required).
  • Provide guidance and academic support to students throughout the course.

Marking and Assessment

  • Assess students' skills and knowledge against unit competency requirements.
  • Mark and grade student progress using various methods (in-class demonstrations, projects, observation, questioning, and work samples).

Qualifications

  • Hold a relevant qualification in
    Laboratory Technology (Certificate IV or Diploma)
    .
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40123 or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge in laboratory operations, techniques, and compliance requirements.
  • Previous experience as a trainer/assessor in the Laboratory Technology field (preferred).
  • Basic knowledge and skills in curriculum development and training design.
  • Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
