The Opportunity

Sharp & Carter are proud to partner with a growing and well-respected construction business on the Sunshine Coast for the recruitment of an Accountant on a permanent, part-time basis.

This is a broad, hands-on finance role where you will take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations while playing a key role in supporting month-end processes and financial decision-making. Working closely with the Director, you will ensure the integrity of financial data, maintain strong compliance practices, and help drive the ongoing financial health of the business.

You'll be joining a supportive, close-knit team that values trust, collaboration and high-quality work. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Accountant who enjoys variety, autonomy and the chance to influence operations.

*Key Responsibilities*

  • Manage end-to-end accounts including AP, AR, bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
  • Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, superannuation and all statutory compliance reporting
  • Manage payroll processing for site and office teams, ensuring accuracy and compliance with awards and legislation.
  • Monitor cashflow and support month-end processes including budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Partner with the Director to deliver financial insights and support strategic decision-making
  • Oversee subcontractor compliance, ensuring all insurances and documentation are up to date
  • Liaise effectively with external accountants, suppliers and internal stakeholders

Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience in a similar Accountant or Senior Finance Officer position (construction industry experience highly regarded)
  • End-to-end payroll processing experience.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and a proactive, solution-focused approach
