About the Role

In this role, you'll design, implement, and maintain
secure, scalable, and resilient cloud automation capabilities
that support
PROTECTED-level environments
.

You'll be at the heart of ASD's mission — driving automation, improving cloud efficiency, and enhancing national cybersecurity posture.

This position requires undergoing
ASD's Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA)
prior to commencement.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and implement automation opportunities across software, systems, and operations.

Develop, run, and validate automated tests using advanced scripting and tooling.

Design and execute QA tests to ensure reliability and system integrity.

Identify and resolve bugs, defects, and quality issues throughout the development lifecycle.

Collaborate with ASD stakeholders and internal teams to streamline workflows through automation.

Design and implement
automated cloud infrastructure solutions
for mission-critical environments.

Manage complex cloud ecosystems with a focus on
security, resilience, and compliance
.

What You Bring

Bachelor's degree in
IT, Systems Engineering, Computer Science
, or a related discipline.

Strong programming and scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, or similar).

Expertise in
AWS
(other major cloud platforms considered).

Hands-on experience with
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

Knowledge of
DevOps
,
CI/CD pipelines
, and
automated testing frameworks
.

Exceptional analytical skills, with a knack for troubleshooting and optimizing complex systems.

Strong communication skills with the ability to work across diverse technical teams.

Essential Criteria for Submission

Strong understanding of programming and software development principles.

Proven experience with one or more automation tools.

Ability to troubleshoot hardware/software and conduct complex system testing.

Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
