POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate should have relevant experience with Autodesk Inventor and Vault software, and a strong background in mechanical design and engineering principles, particularly in the design of pressure vessels per ASME and AS1210 codes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop detailed mechanical designs and drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
- Manage and control the life cycle of design data using Autodesk Vault.
- Prepare BOM and maintain them using Autodesk Vault PDM.
- Design pressure vessels in compliance with ASME and AS1210 codes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including BOMs, change requests, and ECO.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including BOMs, assembly instructions, and maintenance manuals.
- Carry out and review Engineering calculations to ensure they are consistent with SMARDT's design intent and the applicable codes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during the manufacturing process.
- Provide assistance to production related to design and BOM-related queries.
- Carry out classical engineering calculations and generate calculation sheets.
- Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
To be successful in this role you will:
- A minimum of bachelor's degree is required in Mechanical Engineering (essential).
- Experience with Inventor and Vault PDM is highly preferred.
- Experience with ASME and AS1210 Pressure Vessel Codes is essential.
- Experience with ASME (UHX) and TEMA for pressure vessel and heat exchanger design.
- Experience in a similar role (minimum 1 year) is essential.
- Knowledge of FEA, CFD, and PV Elite (or similar PV calc software) is a plus.
