The Opportunity
We're on the hunt for a hands-on, mechanically minded Fit Developer who loves variety, problem-solving, and getting out from behind the desk. You'll be working with the latest vehicle models and some older vehicles, designing and prototyping roof rack solutions as well as developing other product fit solutions, and building strong relationships with dealerships.
If you're someone who enjoys tinkering, sketching, testing, and collaborating—this role is your perfect mix of workshop grit and outdoor hustle.
What You'll Be Doing
- Build trusted relationships with car dealerships to access vehicles for fitment design.
- Research new vehicle models and fitment requirements.
- Design and prototype hardware for roof rack attachments and other products.
- Record measurements and angles to help manufacture stainless-steel clamps.
- Photograph vehicles for brochures and website content.
- Solve fitment challenges and pitch new ideas to our Vehicle Fit and Category Managers.
- Create CAD drawings and write BOMs and fitting instructions.
- Troubleshoot customer fitment issues with creativity and care.
What You'll Bring
- A valid Australian Driver's License.
- This role requires outdoor work in varying conditions and demands a good level of physical fitness to perform daily tasks effectively.
- Confidence with workshop tools and basic manufacturing processes.
- Mechanical or trade background.
- Ability to read and interpret 2D CAD drawings.
- General engineering know-how.
- Automotive industry experience (bonus points).
- Strong relationship-building skills.
- Sharp attention to detail and clear communication.
- A self-starter attitude with team spirit.
- Legal right to work in Australia.
