to join our team at
YMCA Churchill
Outside School Hours Care
on a
permanent part time
basis.
About The Role
As the
Educational Leader
you will lead the development and implementation of the education program by promoting children's well-being, development and learning by helping the children develop values, attitudes and ways of living and learning. This will be achieved by providing a high quality of care, activities and educational elements to those in the program, managing and promoting a team environment and working within the YMCA of Brisbane Long Day Care services' philosophy, policies and procedures.
What will my time look like?
- Lead the development and implementation of the educational program and assessment with the support of Assistant Coordinator/Coordinator
- Ensure children's learning and development informs the design of the educational program, and Educators facilitate and extend each child's learning and development;
- Liaise effectively with parents, staff and all internal and external stakeholders;
- Make recommendations for improvements to educators' educational programs and practices;
- Mentor and support educators understanding of the educational program and practice including how to reflect on the effectiveness of their programs, interactions, intentional teaching and other strategies;
- Ensure compliance with policy;
- Undertake administrative requirements;
- Work collaboratively with families and the school community.
Am I a good match?
- Hold a Diploma in Children's Services or equivalent and demonstrated experience in Early Childhood Education;
- Have had sound experience in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting;
- Possess a comprehensive working knowledge of the approved learning framework;
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others;
- Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Have a comprehensive working knowledge of child development, attachment, learning;
- A demonstrated understanding of evidence-based best practice approaches to teaching and learning;
- Working knowledge of leadership theory and the use of a range of leadership styles;
- Well-developed critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyse and challenge conventional practice and ideas;
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification;
- Currently possess, or be willing to obtain, Blue Card
