Job Description
As Head of Claims- Group, you'll lead the implementation and delivery of TAL's claims proposition for a couple of our partners ensuring operational excellence, service quality, and strong relationships. You'll champion best-practice systems, processes, and procedures, building a reputation for excellence with TAL, our customers, and our partners.

Your focus will be on achieving core business objectives for both TAL and our partner, driving service excellence, retention, and growth. You'll ensure stakeholders are not just satisfied but delighted—delivering on commitments, providing strategic advice, monitoring service performance, and understanding their broader business and insurance goals.

You'll also foster a high-performing, engaged team—attracting and onboarding the right talent, embedding strong training and development plans, shaping a positive team culture, and building capability across Group Life and the wider life insurance business.

In This Role You Will

  • Lead and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders—ensuring TAL's commitments to our partner are delivered on time, to the highest quality, and aligned with their strategic objectives.
  • Drive customer-centric claims service delivery, meeting all contractual commitments and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership on complex claims, reinsurance relationships, and contract negotiations to ensure optimal outcomes for TAL and our partners.
  • Collaborate across TAL to support new products and enhancements, ensuring processes are efficient, effective, and customer-focused.
  • Represent TAL as an industry leader through thought leadership, conference participation, and media engagement in partnership with Corporate Affairs and Marketing.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years' experience in a senior role within Financial Services or Insurance.
  • Proven commercial acumen with strong strategic and operational insight.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and engage teams.
  • Sound knowledge of Super Funds, key industry partners, and (preferably) reinsurance operations.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment.
