About the Role:

As the
Manager People & Culture
, you'll provide both leadership and technical expertise across all HR functions. You will guide your team and the wider organisation in areas including:

• Employee relations and industrial relations
• ensuring compliance and providing clear, practical advice to leaders.
• Workforce planning and organisational design
• delivering solutions that meet the needs of a growing and dynamic workforce.
• Performance, capability and development
• supporting effective management, staff growth and engagement.
• Workplace health, safety and wellbeing
• driving a proactive and inclusive safety culture.
• Policy, process and compliance
• ensuring best practice, legislative compliance, and consistent, reliable systems across Council.

This is a hands-on leadership role where your depth of HR knowledge will make a real difference day to day. You'll also partner with the Executive Leadership Team to shape and deliver people strategies that align with organisational priorities.

About you:

You'll bring proven HR expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to balance strategic insight with operational delivery. Your background will include:

• Demonstrated experience across the full range of HR functions - ER/IR, recruitment, workforce planning, performance management, HR policy and compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Employment Law and industrial relations frameworks, with the ability to resolve complex issues.
• A track record of leading HR teams and building capability across organisations.
• The confidence to provide practical HR advice to senior leaders and managers.
• A hands-on, outcomes-focused approach, with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
