Consultant – In House Legal Counsel (Regulatory)

Reporting directly to the firm's Senior Regulatory Legal Counsel, you will find yourself diving headfirst into the rapidly evolving world of complex regulatory frameworks and emerging technologies. You are someone who is energised by understanding complex legal issues and breaking them down into pragmatic and easily digestible advice.
This role is designed for someone who enjoys working flexibly across a wide portfolio of regulatory areas, including but not limited to Generative AI, Privacy, Cybersecurity, Modern Slavery, Sanctions, AFSL, Whistleblower, AML/CTF, Competition and Consumer Law.
This is a unique opportunity to work at one of the world's largest professional services firms. In this role you will have opportunities to contribute and shape how the firm responds to the rapidly changing regulatory landscape, including by undertaking regulatory risk sensing. You will support various functions within the Office of General Counsel, including contracting, product development, licensing, and technology procurement. A major part of your role will be to become a trusted advisor to our internal stakeholders and providing strategic advice on regulatory matters connected to the delivery of our services.

About the team
This role sits within the broader Corporate legal team in the Office of General Counsel.

We're looking for someone with:
- 2-4 years' post-admission experience in technology law or the provision of regulatory compliance advice gained within a major law firm, a leading organisation or a professional services firm;
- Demonstrated ability to apply structured problem solving to new and interesting challenges;
- Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough legal research and navigate complex regulatory frameworks;
- The ability to translate complex legal issues and ambiguity into clear and commercially pragmatic advice to help support the firm to achieve its objectives;
- A strong understanding of core legal concepts relating to commercial, data and technology law;
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and apply practical solutions;
- The ability to be autonomous, resilient, and adaptable;
- Excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills with a high attention to detail; and
- A positive, energetic and collaborative mindset, who is driven within an agile and geographically dispersed team.
