Kincoppal-Rose Bay School of the Sacred Heart, founded in 1882, is a leading Catholic Independent Day and Boarding School located in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs.  The college is co-educational ELC-6, and girls only 7-12.

At present, we are inviting applications for Full-Time Early Childhood Teachers*. Join the fantastic team of staff based at our Early Learning Centre for Excellence, situated amongst the bush and the beach and with stunning views over Sydney Harbour.

*permanent and temporary (maternity leave) roles available.

Duties:

Welcoming and nurturing the development of the youngest members of our School community through hands-on exploration and encouragement of individual interests, key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing a high standard of care and safety to children, following the Goals of Sacred Heart Education, and being inspired by the philosophies of Reggio Emilia
  • Developing and delivering educational programs that are of high quality and prepare students as they commence their educational journey
  • Working with the wider ELC team to achieve excellence according to the National Quality Standards and other mandated frameworks
  • Ensuring that student progress is well observed and records are kept up to date
  • Maintaining effective relationships with parents, ensuring that communication channels are always open
  • Inspiring and motivating a team of early childhood educators, as well as participating in and contributing to professional development

The ideal candidate:

  • Tertiary qualified and accredited to teach in NSW.
  • Prepared to support the ethos of a Sacred Heart education and be an active and visible participant in the dynamic life of our school
  • Prior experience working with 2 - 5 yea rolds
  • Knowledge and awareness of Nature Pedagogy principles
  • Experience working with the assessment and rating system
  • Ability to create and maintain an effective learning environment, where you believe in the importance of and are committed to facilitating both the personal and academic growth of our students.
  • Strong demonstrated competency in building effective working relationships with colleagues, students, and parents
  • Prepared to commit to fostering the dignity, self-esteem, and integrity of the young people in our care and providing them with a safe, supportive, and enriching environment to develop spiritually, physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially.
