We are currently seeking an experienced and highly organised Project & Sales Estimator to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring accurate pricing, profitability, risk control, and seamless project handover across commercial and residential divisions.
About the Role
You'll be responsible for estimating and pricing landscape projects from residential design-and-construct through to large-scale commercial builds. Working across both divisions, your work will directly influence profit margins, project planning, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation & Takeoffs: Produce accurate cost estimates for both commercial and residential landscape construction projects, including labour, materials, subcontractors, and machinery.
- Design Collaboration: Work closely with in-house landscape designers and the sales team to ensure all designs are financially viable and meet client budget expectations.
- Operations Support: Liaise with project and operations managers to ensure clear handover of costings, scope, and supplier information to ensure seamless delivery.
- Tender & Proposal Preparation: Prepare and submit detailed tenders and quotes for government, private, residential, and commercial opportunities.
- Supplier & Subcontractor Management: Continuously research, negotiate, and validate supplier pricing and subcontractor quotes to ensure cost-effective and high-quality project delivery.
- Client Liaison (Pre-Contract): Provide pricing clarifications and optional scope breakdowns during pre-construction engagement to support client understanding and decision-making.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in landscape, construction, civil, or building industry estimating (both commercial and/or residential preferred).
- A strong grasp of construction methodology, landscaping scopes, and trade sequencing.
- High attention to detail and proficiency with spreadsheets, takeoff tools, and estimating software (Simpro experience is a bonus).
- Ability to multi-task and switch between commercial and residential priorities without loss of accuracy or urgency.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with designers, sales staff, operations managers, and clients.
