About this role

We are currently seeking to recruit a Senior Project Manager who will work closely with the Product Team, Digital Support Team, business units and Vendor, ensuring coordinated project delivery, streamlined software release cycles, and improved operational effectiveness for the Pathway Digital Platform (Commission's Dispute Resolution Platform) and various other digital projects within the Commission.

The Pathway Digital Platform is undergoing continuous enhancements and upgrades where the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for coordination of change and communication activities relating to implementation with the Product Team, Communications Team, Digital Support Team and business units.

The successful candidate should be confident working with JIRA, Confluence.

The Senior Project Manager reports up to the Principal Systems Administrator and will support the Pathway program team and the wider Digital Transformation Directoratein delivering the ongoing digital program of work within the Commission.

This will be a Hybrid working model requiring 3 days in the office each week.

About Us

The Personal Injury Commission (Commission) resolves disputes between people injured in motor accidents and workplaces in NSW, insurers and employers.

The Commission is an independent statutory tribunal within the New South Wales justice system, committed to providing a transparent and independent dispute resolution service.

Resolving disputes justly and efficiently in the shortest time frame is a priority for the Commission. We work with all parties (injured persons, insurers, and employers, where relevant) to discuss ways of achieving this.

In this role you will:

  • Implement a structured implementation framework in accordance with approved standards, agile and best practice methodologies to improve efficiency & coordination of the digital program of work.
  • Partner with stakeholders to undertake digital projects (excluding Pathway) to ensure requirements and standards are met and best practice techniques are used.
  • Engage proactively with the Digital Support team to drive BAU platform enhancements, focusing on improving user experience, optimising performance, and aligning with evolving business requirements.
  • Influence and negotiate with stakeholders to obtain consensus for change initiatives.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of Pathway scheduling and release planning, ensuring alignment with established release cycles and collaborating with the Program Manager and Product Owner to optimise timelines, resource allocation, and delivery outcomes.
  • Manage and co-ordinate the maintenance, approval and publishing of training materials (including how to guides, user guides, eLearning modules, presentations, activities guide, etc.)

The following criteria will be assessed for each candidate:

  • Exceptional project management capability and experience, including experience in project delivery and reporting against competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to liaise and negotiate with a range of stakeholders, including vendors, program team, business and operations.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the project cycle, including developing project plans, identifying and coordinating resources, managing budgets, supplier and contract management and meeting reporting requirements to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and approved project management methodology
  • Demonstrated experience in being able to lead multiple digital streams of work at once.
  • Ability to acquire a technical understanding of the systems and processes the Commission uses. A "can do" style where rolling up sleeves and tackling unfamiliar technology is required.
  • Ability to work with external vendors to ensure the efficient and regular release of system enhancements.
  • Partnering with key stakeholders to coordinate releases, from inception to delivery, to ensure smooth production releases for new features and/or products
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate end-to-end testing processes and establish release cycles to minimise production incidents
  • Extensive experience and understanding in the Atlassian tool suite including Jira and Confluence.
  • Qualifications in project management (PMP, Prince 2) is desirable
