**About us**

We are looking for energetic, engaging and **experienced disability support workers** to join our team in the **Wollongong Area**. Our participants require 24-hour assistance with daily living tasks, community access and social support. Available shifts include morning, afternoon and evening with an inactive sleepover portion. **Availability for inactive sleepover shifts are highly desirable.**

**Qualifications & experience**
- Demonstrate a commitment to the safety of people with a disability.
- Professional experience supporting participants with a significant physical disability and neurological impairments.
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to behaviour support plans and safety protocols.
- An understanding of the disability sector and therapeutic approach to individual support.
- Strong communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and under limited supervision.
- Flexible availability and a long-term commitment to the organisation.
- Manual handling experience.
- Demonstrated experience with personal care tasks.
- Relevant qualification in individual support or similar (_highly regarded_).

**Tasks & responsibilities**
- Assistance with community access and recreational activities
- Personal care (showering, toileting, and hygiene assistance)
- Manual handling and the use of wheelchairs, hoists, commode, Sara Stedy, pelican belt etc.
- Transportation and social engagement
- Light domestic duties such as meal preparation and cleaning
- Behavioural and Mental Health Support
- Completing documentation and case notes.

**Salary**: $30.00 - $39.99 per hour
