This role will always be a little different.

We're looking for a Project Change Manager that has at least 3+ years' experience working with businesses as they go through the change journey, from their current state to a new (improved?) future state. You'll understand what that means and what you need to do to ensure that change is managed sustainably.

You should have an eye for accuracy and be almost fixated on "getting it right", whatever that means.  Everything from flexibility of approach, to training in all of its guises, and what coaching means in different situations. Understanding the effective use of tools such as infographics or other media, or the challenges of working with people on irregular shifts, these are the skills we value highly in this kind of role.

Essentially, you're that person that people talk about: "If it wasn't for them, the change would not have gone smoothly, in fact, it might not have progressed at all".

Despite that, it is also knowing when to stop - what is the right balance for the change we are seeking to execute. Too much "caring and sharing" can be as counterproductive as simply being a bull at a gate.

You will need to be able to travel - potentially a lot - and be able to adapt to a variety of different industries.  Sitting with different clients and helping them emu understand their business, showing them where there are opportunities for improvement and working under different PMs to roll out projects across different locations are all part of the work.

Sometimes it might even be sitting with a client to determine their existing tools and working out how to effectively deploy them for the change at hand.

Positivity and a thirst to learn, with the experience to show that you can, will be key to being successful.

It would be great to see a tertiary qualification but this isn't a pre-requisite if you have good experience.

A quick note on location.  While we have indicated Brisbane, travel requirement of this role can be extensive and you may find yourself travelling to other capital or regional cities as required.

Overall, there should be a good balance of work from home and travel, but this more an intent rather than something that can be assured.
