Your new role
Join our dynamic and skilled transport team as a Transport Supervisor, where you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the Northwest region of WA. We're seeking a motivated professional with expertise in transport asset management, safety reporting, cost optimisation, and strong people leadership skills. This role offers a chance to lead with excellence, drive improvements, and contribute to the success of our operations. Opportunity for a 2-week on, 1-week off FIFO schedule if you are located outside the Port Hedland area.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the safe and efficient movement of materials to and from company and vendor sites, ensuring compliance with company policies and legislative requirements.
- Plan and manage transport schedules, routes, and resources to achieve cost-effective and timely delivery, minimising downtime and maximising efficiency.
- Maintain a strong focus on workplace safety, ensuring all team members adhere to safety standards, conduct risk assessments, and follow compliance requirements, including Chain of Responsibility obligations.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery. Implement innovative solutions to optimise transport efficiency and performance.
- Maintain high standards of service by addressing customer needs, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring delivery schedules are met.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records related to transport activities, safety incidents, and compliance. Provide timely reports on operational performance and improvement initiatives.
- Oversee transport asset maintenance, ensuring reliability and arranging repairs as needed.
To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:
- Extensive experience in transport is essential for this role.
- Providing leadership and support on all Safety matters and CoR compliance
- Comprehensive understanding of CoR principles
- Ensuring all contractors are signed to the Contractors' agreement and all sub-contractors are compliant under CoR rules & regulations.
- Excellent negotiation, planning, scheduling, and time management skills.
- Knowledge of applicable legislation such as the Road Traffic Act & Regulations and Chain of Responsibility.
- Qualifications in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management would be of benefit.
