Job Description Summary

Exciting opportunity for a Supervisor to join our VIC Transport Division working on a major roads project
About the Role

Working closely with a team in a dynamic environment you will be responsible for the supporting the installation, maintenance and upgrades of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) across a diverse range of roadside assets in the Melbourne in area such as Closed-Circuit Television Cameras, Variable Message signs, Traffic Monitoring units and many more roadside electronic equipment

Supervise the night team consisting of technicians, traffic controllers and sub contractors on a nightly basis. Which includes providing technical assistance to the technicians, direction to the traffic control team, safety leadership as well as administrative reporting.

Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time

Location: Port Melbourne, VIC

Reporting Line: Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating the nightly works program
- Ensure site safety and compliance with relevant health and safety standards and take immediate action as required
- Conduct daily Pre-Starts and Monthly Toolboxes
- Ensure the efficient use of labour and equipment to minimise costs
- Completing relevant quality assurance and operations documentation

About you

To be successful for this role you will have previous experience as a Supervisor, ideally working with Intelligent Transport Systems and associated electrical infrastructure (desirable, not essential). You will quickly learn and develop proficiency in using computer-based programs to track and report on maintenance progress. In addition to the above you will have:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- An understanding of the obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Ability to work night shifts (Sunday to Thursday)
- Experience using MS outlook and MS Office
