Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia. AGIG manages over 40,000km of distribution networks, more than 4,300km of transmission pipelines and 60 petajoules of storage capacity. About the Opportunity
AGIG is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Representative to drive business growth through maximizing gas customer connections and load growth across our distribution networks. This role is key to fostering strong relationships with both new and existing customers, driving customer retention, and ensuring alignment with AGIG's goals for natural and renewable gas.
As a Business Development Representative, you will play a crucial role in achieving connection and disconnection targets, as well as promoting the benefits of natural and renewable gas solutions. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver targeted sales strategies, managing a sales pipeline to meet and exceed annual targets.
- Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with existing customers and prospective clients to ensure business growth and retention.
- Cultivate and maintain productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring business development objectives align with company strategy.
- Respond to customer inquiries promptly, prepare and present offers to secure positive outcomes, and facilitate a seamless connection process.
- Maintain accurate customer data and track interactions via a CRM platform to manage pipeline activities efficiently.
- Attend business development and stakeholder engagement events, including occasional after-hours commitments.
- Collaborate with contractors and partners to resolve issues in the connection process, identify system improvements, and enhance the customer experience.
- Increase awareness of renewable gas among external stakeholders and provide updates on AGIG's renewable gas initiatives and transition pathways.
- Identify and actively pursue opportunities to collaborate with Renewable Gas developers.
About You
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business or a trade qualification are preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in business development, account management, or sales.
- Proven experience in sales and business development, with a strong track record of success in preparing and presenting offers.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Be able to build a sales pipeline from inception through to completion and demonstrate how they overcome hurdles along the way
- Drive and tenacity to excel in a competitive energy market undergoing a transition.
- Previous experience working within the energy industry or ancillary industries would be highly regarded.
