WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for talented Accountants to join our Accounting Team. If you are detailed oriented and able to use your accounting experience to support the Finance function across our global businesses - we want to hear from you. The roles are based in our offices at the Rocks, Sydney.

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Financial Reporting & Compliance:

  • Prepare, review, and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data to management and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain compliance with local, regional, and international accounting standards and tax regulations.

Month-End & Year-End Close:

  • Lead and coordinate the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure all journal entries, accruals, and adjustments are properly recorded.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records.

General Ledger Management:

  • Oversee and manage all accounting entries in the general ledger (GL).
  • Monitor GL accounts to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in the correct period.
  • Review and approve journal entries prepared by junior accountants.

Audit & Internal Controls:

  • Support external and internal audits by preparing schedules, answering queries, and providing documentation.
  • Implement, monitor, and continuously improve internal financial controls and accounting policies.

Taxation & Statutory Reporting:

  • Prepare or review tax filings (VAT, GST, corporate tax, R&D Claim etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory financial reporting obligations.

Intercompany Transactions & Reconciliations:

  • Manage intercompany charges and settlements.
  • Reconcile intercompany balances with global subsidiaries.

Payroll Preparation & Processing:

  • Collect, review, and verify employee timesheets, attendance records, and leave balances.
  • Calculate earnings, bonuses, deductions (e.g., taxes, benefits, garnishments), and net pay for each payroll cycle.
  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, depending on the company).

Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial accounting operations.
  • Contribute to the automation of accounting tasks using ERP systems or accounting tools.

JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

Transaction Recording & Data Entry:

  • Record daily financial transactions including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
  • Assist with posting journal entries into the accounting system under the guidance of the Senior Accountant.

General Ledger Support:

  • Assist in maintaining the accuracy of the general ledger.
  • Help reconcile GL accounts such as cash, accounts receivable/payable, and accrued expenses.

Bank & Account Reconciliations:

  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are captured and properly classified.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies with guidance from senior team

Employee Expense and Timesheet:

  • Collect, review, and verify employee timesheets and leave balances.
  • Collect and reconcile employee expense reimbursement and credit card expense

Document Management:

  • Maintain organized records of all accounting and financial documents.
  • Ensure proper documentation is available for audit and review purposes.

Assistance with Reporting:

  • Prepare draft versions of basic financial reports and summaries.
  • Provide input and data needed for internal and external reporting.

ERP & Systems Use:

  • Learn and use accounting systems/ERP tools for daily accounting tasks.
  • Help test and implement new accounting software features or improvements.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful, you will need ...

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and CPA qualified (Senior Accountant)
  • Demonstrated communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated experience with financial and management accounting
  • Exceptional attention to detail and systems
  • Be proactive, resourceful, and willing to take initiative
  • High level Microsoft Office skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience with Odoo - highly desirable
  • Demonstrated multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities
