Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Security Officers to join our growing team on a part time and casual basis.

The Security Officer plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, secure and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality security, orderly and patient transport services that support the smooth operation of the hospital functions and contribute to person-centred care.

Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, the Security Officer provides proactive patrols, responds to incidents and emergencies, and assists with the safe movement of patients, equipment, and materials throughout the hospital.

The role of the Security Officer is:

  • Provide a visible and proactive security presence across the hospital to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff.
  • Respond to security incidents, alarms, and emergency calls in line with LRH procedures and ensure timely communication with relevant personnel.
  • Assist with patient transport, movement and transfers between departments and units as required.

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

  • Certificate II in Security Operations (Unarmed Guard) and a current satisfactory criminal record check.
  • Experience in performing security, orderly and courier functions in a busy environment or service-orientated environment.
  • Strong ability to remain calm and effectively de-escalate challenging and or high-pressure environments.

Now is an exciting time to join the LRH team, with the $223.5 million expansion completed in March 2024, offering improved maternity and paediatric facilities, larger intensive care unit, increased medical and surgical beds and additional operating theatres.
