The CompanyOur client is a well-established and fast-growing Tier 2 construction group with a reputation for delivering high-quality residential and commercial builds across NSW. With a strong pipeline of multi-residential, mixed-use, and complex commercial projects, this business combines technical innovation, collaborative culture, and rock-solid delivery capability. Their team is proud to shape communities and build better living and working spaces.
The Role
We are currently seeking a detail-driven and motivated Project Engineer with both residential and commercial project experience to support the delivery of a high-profile build. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will work closely with site and project teams to coordinate planning, procurement, documentation, subcontractors, and reporting. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to major developments from the ground up—including structural, façade, and high-spec residential finishes.
You
You're an engineer who understands the nuances of residential construction, particularly in mid- to high-rise projects, and is confident navigating both structural and finishing phases. You bring a technical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a proactive attitude. Whether you're resolving design issues, managing subcontractors, or tracking cost performance, you do so with precision and professionalism.
You bring:
- 3+ years' experience in a Project Engineer role across residential (apartments, townhouses, mixed-use) and/or commercial sectors
- Degree-qualified in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field
- Solid knowledge of the residential construction lifecycle, from slab to handover
- Strong understanding of BCA/NCC, WHS, QA, and residential construction standards
- Experience with project software tools (e.g. Buildlogic, Jobpac, MS Project, Procore, Aconex)
- Proven ability to manage technical documentation, subcontractor coordination, and cost tracking
- Excellent interpersonal skills—comfortable dealing with site teams, trades, and consultants
Key Responsibilities
- Support Project Manager with planning, execution, and progress tracking
- Coordinate and monitor procurement of materials, shop drawings, and subcontractor activities
- Ensure compliance with engineering specs, project plans, QA and WHS protocols
- Manage site documentation including ITPs, checklists, RFI registers, and variations
- Liaise with structural engineers, architects, and consultants to resolve site issues
- Oversee cost tracking, forecasting, and preparation of client progress claims
- Ensure timely and accurate communication with subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams
- Track residential-specific elements such as waterproofing, kitchens, joinery, tiling, and final finishes
- Monitor materials usage and coordinate timely delivery to site
- Prepare and deliver project status updates and cost reports to the Project Director
- Support handover process including defect management and client manuals
Benefits
- Contract role with the potential for long-term engagement across multiple sites
- Work on exciting multi-residential and mixed-use developments
- Gain exposure to both commercial and residential engineering challenges
- Collaborative, high-performance team environment
- Structured processes and tools to support project delivery
- Be mentored by experienced leaders who are passionate about your development
