Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, you'll partner with leaders across our Corporate Business Functions to shape and deliver the people strategy that powers our future success.

This is a role for a true business partner, someone who thrives on connection, brings commercial acumen and curiosity, and isn't afraid to challenge the status quo. You'll lead initiatives that strengthen leadership capability, accelerate cultural transformation, and future-proof our workforce, ensuring our people, structure, and culture are ready for what's next.

At Hastings Deering, our team isn't just Human Resources, its influence, impact, and transformation at scale.

This is a strategic, hands-on role where you'll influence decisions, lead transformation, and make a tangible impact on culture, capability, and performance.

As a Senior Human Resources Business Partner at Hastings Deering, you will:

  • Drive organisational effectiveness - Diagnose organisational health, optimise operating models, and lead HR-driven change to enhance agility and performance.

  • Empower and coach leaders - Build leadership capability through coaching, trusted advice, and practical support that drives accountability and engagement.

  • Champion culture and engagement - Shape a values-driven, high-performing workplace where people feel connected, inspired, and empowered to succeed.

  • Future-proof the workforce - Anticipate workforce trends, emerging skills, and technology shifts to ensure readiness for the future.

  • Lead key HR initiatives - Deliver projects that enhance the employee experience, build capability, and support business transformation.

  • Leverage data and insights - Use people analytics and external benchmarks to inform decisions, identify trends, and measure impact.

  • Champion inclusion and wellbeing - Promote a safe, inclusive, and values-led culture that supports belonging, wellbeing, and performance.

What you'll bring

You're a confident and credible HR professional who thrives on connection, influence, and delivering results. You combine strategic thinking with commercial insight and have a genuine passion for shaping culture and developing leaders.

We're looking for someone with:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.

  • 8+ years' HR experience, including senior business partnering within large, complex, or matrixed organisations.

  • Proven ability to design and implement people strategies that drive performance, transformation, and growth.

  • Demonstrated strength in organisational design, workforce planning, and cultural change.

  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge, advise, and coach senior leaders.

  • Strong experience with HR analytics and insights to inform data-driven decisions and measure success.

  • A solid understanding of employment legislation, governance, and contemporary HR practices.
