Brisbane Airport Queensland, Australia LifeFlight Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

About LifeFlight
LifeFlight Australia is a leading aeromedical organisation dedicated to saving lives through rapid response medical services. Operating a fleet of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, LifeFlight delivers critical care and emergency retrievals across Queensland and beyond. In addition to its lifesaving missions, LifeFlight runs a world-class training academy, equipping aviation and medical professionals with the skills needed for high-pressure environments. Our mission is to provide the highest standard of care and make a real difference in the communities we serve.

About The Role
As the Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) Assurance Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the Quality Manager by ensuring regulatory and contractual compliance through the delivery of the Internal Audit Program (IAP). Beyond auditing, you will be responsible for administering the safety database, acting as the organisation's Fire Safety Advisor, identifying and addressing operational risks, driving change management protocols, and fostering a strong and positive safety culture. You will also participate in safety investigations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across LifeFlight.

About You
You are a qualified Lead Auditor with experience in conducting quality audits and a keen eye for identifying risk and driving continuous improvement. You're confident preparing reports, analysing data, and providing clear, reliable advice to stakeholders. Strong communication and presentation skills allow you to influence and promote a positive safety culture across LifeFlight.

Ideally, you'll also bring experience in aviation, safety investigations, or fire safety, along with a strong understanding of aviation legislation and regulations. A background in Safety Management Systems (SMS) or operational environments such as flight operations or engineering will be highly regarded.

Objectives & Measures of Success
In this role, success will be measured by your ability to:

  • Deliver a high level of satisfaction to internal partners, as reflected in feedback to the Quality Manager.
  • Provide timely, comprehensive, and accurate advice on safety and regulatory compliance issues, ensuring nil overdue internal findings.
  • Actively engage with Business Units on regulatory and contractual performance issues, driving closure of findings from internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure all audits completed on schedule as per the HSSE Audit program.

Why LifeFlight?
Meaningful Impact:
Working with LifeFlight Australia provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on people's lives. The organisation is dedicated to saving lives, delivering critical care services, and responding to emergencies. Employees can take pride in contributing to a mission-driven organisation focused on making a positive difference in the community.

Collaboration & Support:
At LifeFlight, we are committed to fostering a culture of camaraderie and teamwork. Our aeromedical operations thrive on the close collaboration between medical professionals, pilots, and support staff, all working together in high-pressure environments. We value a supportive and inclusive workplace where individuals can rely on one another, creating a strong sense of purpose and unity. By harnessing the power of teamwork and pooling our strengths, we believe we can overcome any challenge, achieve our goals, and find fulfillment in the critical work we do.

Salary Packaging Options:
As an employee of LifeFlight, you have the opportunity to benefit from salary packaging, allowing you to allocate up to $15,900 per Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) year towards general living expenses. This includes covering various everyday costs like groceries, petrol, mortgage, rent, and school fees, providing you with added financial flexibility and support.

At LifeFlight, we're committed to serving all communities across Queensland and beyond. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as well as people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, to apply. We value the unique perspectives and experiences that diversity brings to our team and the communities we support.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a growing organisation that is dedicated to saving lives and serving the community. If you believe you have the necessary skills and experiences, we would love to hear from you today.

Note: the successful applicant will be required to undergo background checks including a national police check as a condition of employment. This position is only open to Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents, or those with unrestricted work rights in Australia. Applicants who do not meet these criteria will not be considered.
