In this role, you will oversee the operations of three major, community focused recreation venues, which are directly managed by Council…

  • Queensland State Equestrian Centre - Home - Queensland State Equestrian Centre
  • Morayfield Sport and Events Centre - Home - Morayfield Sport & Events Centre
  • Redcliffe Entertainment Centre - Home - Redcliffe Entertainment Centre

In addition to this, you will oversee the management of 15 recreation venues by Council's specialist contract partners, including aquatic facilities, fitness facilities and indoor sports centre.

This role is an integral part of our leadership team, and we will look to you to provide strategic and operational leadership to the Recreation Venues branch, currently sitting at just under 50 team members.

Additionally, you will:

  • lead the development and implementation of service, operational and business planning activities
  • manage the operating budget, ensuring a high standard of financial performance and accountability
  • provide expert advice regarding infrastructure and asset management planning
  • lead the implementation of safety and risk management frameworks
  • develop and maintain strong productive relationships with key stakeholders, partners and contractors
  • oversee the establishment and implementation of best practice contract and performance management frameworks

About you

As a motivated leader with strong operational skills, you will bring your significant experience in managing major community, cultural or recreation venues, as well as your financial management in managing large operational budgets.

You will possess exceptional communication skills, coupled with the ability to negotiate, communicate and build collaborative relationships with stakeholders to achieve ongoing improvements and objectives.
