About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Level 1/2 Technical IT Support professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing on-site technical support to our client, addressing IT desktop-related issues, and ensuring smooth and efficient IT operations.

What You'll Do

  • Provide first and second-level technical support for desktop-related issues, including hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
  • Respond to and resolve support tickets in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to the client's operations.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware and software.
  • Assist with the setup and deployment of new equipment and systems.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Document and track issues, resolutions, and changes in the ticketing system.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to escalate and resolve complex issues.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Stay updated with the latest IT trends and technologies to provide informed support.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems.
  • Experience in Office 365, Microsoft Windows Servers, Desktop OS, Firewalls, DNS, Internet, Routing and Network troubleshooting, Veeam Backup and Replication, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Knowledge of Autotask and SolarWinds N-Able will be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with common desktop applications and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Basic understanding of networking principles and protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or similar.
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices and principles.
  • Working Conditions:
  • Full-time position based at the client's site in Melbourne's CBD
  • May require occasional after-hours support or on-call duties.
  • Physical ability to lift and move IT equipment is needed.
