Leading Wholesale Seafood Company on the Gold Coast is in search for the following positions due to the growth of our business:

OYSTER OPENER

An Experienced oyster opener would be desirable, but would also look to train the the right person, who is willing to learn the trade.

The role includes the shucking and cleaning of oysters, into 5 and 10 dozen boxes

This will be a casual position, averaging around 30-40 hrs per week. Early morning start.

Duties Involved

Lifting bags of oysters

Opening oysters

Making oyster boxes

Keeping temperature control logs

Maintaining our strict HACCP requirements

FACTORY WORKER

Allrounder for our continual growing business. Supplying anyone from five star hotels and resorts, restaurants, takeaway shops and much more. Stocking all frozen and fresh items, shucking oysters and filleting fish daily.

Qualifications & experience

  • No real experience required, some knowledge in fish would be beneficial, but not a necessity. Must be able to work with a team, and have drive to complete tasks by themselves if required. A Forklift License would also be an advantage.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Packing orders, breaking down large bins of fish, scaling fish, while also supporting our filleters with stocking of the fish. Cleaning of work areas daily. A general helping hand in the whole factory, maybe required to assist any area of the factory. (Training will be provided)

There will be ongoing support and training from qualified staff members.

FISH FILLETER

We are seeking a Fish Filleter to join our growing team.  This role would suit a person who has experience working in a similar position and can effectively and efficiently assist our filleting team with the preparation, portioning, and handling of seafood products in a timely manner.

The successful candidate will have / be:

  • Experience as a Fish Filleter for a minimum last 2 years.
  • A sound understanding of the OHS, HACCP and ISO22000 requirements.
  • An understanding of the processes involved, including the safe operation of equipment.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with early starts.
  • A strong work ethic and be a reliable team member.
  • Experience or Willingness to work in a cold environment.
  • Be an effective communicator who works well autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
