About The Nurse Case Manager Role
We are looking for experienced nurses to join our rapidly growing team in a dynamic and rewarding position. This opportunity allows you to transition from the demands of a clinical environment to a central Melbourne office-based role, while continuing to apply your valuable nursing expertise. You'll provide support to patients who rely on remote medical assistance and advice.
No two days are the same in this role, offering variety and challenge in a fast-paced setting.
Working Arrangements
This is a full-time, office-based role in central Melbourne, with occasional opportunities to work from home.
You will work on a rotating shift pattern covering 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, Monday to Sunday.
Our London-based medical team covers overnight hours as part of our 24/7 global health operations.
About You
- Current Australian Registered General Nurse.
- Minimum of 4 years recent acute care experience, including several years in a critical care setting (e.g., ICU, A&E, HDU, CCU, or acute surgical nursing).
- Previous experience in medical assistance and clinical case management is highly desirable.
- Excellent telephone manner and strong computer skills.
- Ability to identify critical medical issues and act promptly, escalating when necessary.
- Resilient and adaptable under pressure, with a compassionate approach.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Enjoy working collaboratively in a professional environment, planning effectively for both short- and long-term patient needs.
About The Role
Position Overview for the Nurse Case Manager role.
As part of a global 24/7 "follow-the-sun" Medical Assistance team, you will:
- Deliver professional, clinically supportive services on behalf of our international clients.
- Use your clinical knowledge and problem-solving skills to manage new and ongoing medical assistance cases, including emergency and non-urgent situations such as evacuations and repatriations.
- Work closely with Assistance Coordinators and other teams to support patients and families during stressful situations abroad.
- Provide non-diagnostic medical advice directly to clients.
- Contribute clinical input to pre-deployment medical assessments, helping reduce risk for individuals traveling overseas.
Key Relationships
Healix Doctors and Nursing Medical Team; Assistance and Repatriation Coordinators, Healix Security Services team; Foreign Medical providers; airline medical clearance departments; other departments within Healix.
Skills Needed
Required Criteria
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
