Job DescriptionWe're looking for a Platform/DevOps Engineer to help us design, build, and operate a scalable, secure, and automated container platform on AWS using Kubernetes and Golang. You'll be part of a high-impact team that's building Infrastructure and Container Platform as a Service, codifying best practices, and enabling product teams to move fast with confidence.
You'll be a key player in bridging the gap between development and operations, automating everything from code deployment to infrastructure management. If you are passionate about building robust, self-healing systems and have a deep understanding of how modern distributed applications communicate and are managed, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities:
AWS & Infrastructure Automation
- Architect and provision EKS clusters aligned with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Design and implement secure, scalable networking (VPCs, subnets, routing).
- Build infrastructure provisioning and management services using code (not Terraform).
Kubernetes Platform Engineering
- Administer and operate Kubernetes/EKS clusters as a managed platform.
- Define and enforce network policies, security controls, and resource constraints.
- Deploy and manage platform components: Ingress Controller, Gateway API, External DNS, Cert Manager.
- Implement observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) and codify dynamic alerting.
Golang Development
- Build Golang operators to automate cloud infra and Kubernetes resource management.
- Develop REST APIs for GitOps workflows, product configuration, and automation bots.
- Write clean, modular, and testable code with strong engineering practices.
GitOps & CI/CD
- Define and manage Argo CD applications using Kustomize (Helm-to-Kustomize migration experience preferred).
- Codify GitOps standards and automate application onboarding.
Cloud Native Tooling
- Work with technologies like Istio, Crossplane, Vault, OPA/Kyverno, Operator SDK.
- Build secure Docker images and contribute to platform automation.
AWS & EKS:
- Proven experience setting up and administering AWS EKS clusters, following AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Strong understanding of AWS networking, VPC design, and security best practices.
- Experience translating cloud infrastructure best practices into code (using tools other than Terraform).
Kubernetes / EKS Platform:
- Hands-on Kubernetes administration experience, ideally in a platform-as-a-service context.
- Ability to define and enforce Kubernetes network policies, security controls, and resource constraints.
- Experience deploying and managing Ingress Controllers, Gateway API, External DNS, and Cert Manager.
- Familiarity with observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack), including log forwarding and dynamic alerting.
Golang & Software Engineering:
- Proficiency in software engineering (any language) with a strong willingness to learn Golang.
- Experience with unit and integration testing, clean code principles, and modular design.
- Ability to build and maintain REST APIs.
- Experience building Golang operators for automating cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes platforms (e.g., tagging resources, automating resource creation, IAM/IRSA automation, secrets management).
- Experience developing Golang APIs for GitOps workflows, product configuration, and automation (e.g., merge bots, PR automation).
GitOps & CI/CD:
- Hands-on experience with Argo CD, including defining and managing Argo CD applications.
- Proficiency with Kustomize for GitOps manifests; ability to convert Helm charts to Kustomize.
- Familiarity with GitOps principles and workflows.
Docker & Containerization:
- Experience building secure Docker images, following container security best practices.
Cloud Native Technologies (Preferred)
- Exposure to Istio, Gateway API, External DNS, Cert Manager.
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and observability stacks.
- Familiarity with operator frameworks (Kubebuilder, Operator SDK).
- Knowledge of Crossplane, OPA/Kyverno, Vault.
- Some experience with Terraform (for platform bootstrapping).
General & Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, agile team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Passion for automation, platform engineering, and continuous improvement.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and best practices.
