Job Description
To support the Financial Reporting Manager in leading the JB Hi-Fi financial accounting team ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of accounting records, delivering monthly internal reporting for the JB Hi-Fi Australia and JB Hi-Fi New Zealand businesses along with driving process improvements.
- Support the Financial Reporting Manager in oversight of financial accounting, month end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
- Lead a team of 2-3 direct reports and provide mentoring and coaching to the broader financial accounting team
- Reviewing and analysing monthly financial accounts of JB Hi-Fi New Zealand (Profit & Loss)
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely resolution of variances
- Assist all internal stakeholders and store leaders with queries and ad hoc requests
- Play an active role in projects to improve financial reporting and the set-up and integration into the finance systems of new products and offerings, and documenting changes to processes and procedures
- Drive the development and implementation of finance processes and systems to reconcile and report on new product and service offerings, including process improvements in financial accounting and month end processes
- Other ad-hoc tasks and projects as required
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years' experience, preferably within a retail/similar environment, and experienced in supervising or coaching team members
- A Chartered Accountant or CPA
- Proven financial accounting skills, acute attention to detail, and high degree of analytical skill
- Experience in using a large ERP system preferred, and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
- A highly motivated self-starter, able to work in a team environment and to tight deadlines
- Exemplary personal communication and presentation skills shown in the ability to communicate at all levels and with various stakeholder
