About this role

With your skills and experience, you can contribute to the millions of ways we're enhancing health and wellness while developing your career as part of the largest health organisation in Australia.

As part of the Channels Unit leadership team, you're someone who cares deeply about people, culture and great design and you know how to bring all three together. You'll lead a talented team of four graphic designers and a production officer, steering our creative vision within the NSW Government brand framework.

You'll wear many hats, graphic designer, art director, studio manager, team leader and valued member of the leadership team. You'll shape ideas, manage clients, coach others, and help us continue our trajectory of effective and beautifully crafted creative work.

You'll be the guardian of our brand ensuring every piece of creative work is both distinctive and consistent within the NSW Government brand framework. You'll help others across the organisation understand how to apply the framework effectively, building confidence, clarity and pride in how our visual identity is used and experienced.

Crown Clerk 11/12, starting salary from $149,739 - $173,174 p.a. plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing

• Responding to creative briefs
• Liaising and coaching others to create great creative and concept briefs
• Leading and coaching your team and allocating the portfolio of work
• Leading strategic brand projects, image library, NSW Health brand guide
• Assisting all communications across the system (180,000 employees in health) to be on brand, adhere to the brand framework and championing creativity too
• Being the brand expert for health
• Keeping up with design trends, fashioning recommendations to complex brand and design problems and being on the tools
• Working out of hours or on call as operational or public information needs demand.

About you

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:

• University or college qualification in graphic design and brand
• 15+ years' experience in design and brand leadership roles
• A natural at building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and managing clients
• A growth mindset, and commitment to continuous learning and personal development.
