About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Medical Receptionist to join our dynamic team at the Miami Family Medical Centre. This part-time position will be based in our medical practice in Miami, Queensland. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in ensuring a positive experience and efficient clinic operations.

What you'll be doing

  • Warmly greeting and checking in patients upon arrival
  • Scheduling appointments and managing the clinic's appointment calendar
  • Handling patient inquiries and providing exceptional customer service
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and updating medical charts
  • Assisting with billing, insurance claims and other administrative tasks
  • Providing general support to the clinical team as required

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a customer service role within the healthcare industry
  • Minimum of 2+ years experience in a medical receptionist or healthcare customer service role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients, clinicians and colleagues
  • Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in using medical practice management software and computer systems
  • Experience using Best Practice medical practice management software
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
