Maze Backpackers Sydney , Receptionist – Full Time

We are looking to hire an outgoing proactive individual to work as part of our receptionist team, in our large city-based hostel.

The hostel is one of the largest in Sydney and we have nightly activities and events to make our guests from all over the globe feel welcome.

You would be responsible for the smooth operation on shift, from managing front desk, greeting and checking in all guests , handling handovers from previous shift including maintenance and housekeeping matters.

Preventing, reducing and managing guest issues should they arise (Bookings/Building issues etc).

We need people to have the following attributes;

  • Friendly welcoming personalities
  • Previous experience handling cash and daily shift/banking reconciliations
  • Ability to work weekends
  • Professional yet fun
  • A genuine interest in helping people enjoy their time in Sydney
  • Very strong character to manage any situations should they arise
  • Attention to detail
  • Target driven
  • Punctual
  • Willing to ensure all guests have an amazing time, that they want to tell their friends and return
  • An understanding of Occupational Health and Safety requirements

We would prefer someone with experience in a hostel or hotel reception background. It would be an advantage if you have supervisor or team leader experience as we are a 500 bed hostel.

We use CMS Hospitality (GuestCentrix) property management software, so if you know your way around CMS, shout about this in your application. If not, this can be compensated by your enthusiastic personality, experience and willingness to learn.

The job is 5 shifts per week, including weekends, nights and public holidays.
