Senior Cardiac Scientist

Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology has an opportunity for a permanent full-time Senior Cardiac Scientist. This office-based role will see you working 8am – 4pm, Monday to Friday at the Bowen Hills Laboratory, reporting to the Cardiology Services Manager. WFH (1 day/week) option available post probation.
Your primary responsibility is to lead and develop a small team of Cardiac Scientists responsible for analysing, interpreting and preparing preliminary reports on Holter Monitors, supervision of ECGs and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors processes.
Some of the other specific responsibilities of the position are to:
- Work closely with the Cardiologists to ensure production of safe, high quality patient reports
- Contribute to the timely release of patient results to doctors and specialists
- Troubleshoot the scientific and administration processes
- Provide over the phone support to both internal and external customers
- Analyse, interpret and prepare preliminary reports on Holter Monitors
- Assist with performance reviews, training and clinical education
- Undertake ongoing reviews and documentation of relevant procedures
- Able to assume the manager's responsibilities when needed
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A Bachelor in Exercise Science/Exercise Physiology/Biomedical Science or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience.
- Postgraduate qualification (AQF Level 8) in healthcare science with subjects of study specific to cardiac science including but not limited to cardiovascular anatomy, cardiovascular physiology and cardiovascular pathophysiology, cardiac pharmacology, bioinstrumentation (medical technology), and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) clinical placement.
- Demonstrated experience in contributing to the diagnosis and care of patients through the application, interpretation and preliminary reporting of, Holter Monitors, ECGs and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors.
- Prior experience with Medilog Darwin.
- High level organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise work and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability in Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel and Outlook) and the willingness to learn various Cardiology-specific applications.
- The ability to work effectively, both independently and as a member of a team.
- Sound troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
