Our robust conceptual models provide the foundation to allow development of industry leading numerical models, put together by a team of expert numerical modellers who specialise in the use of the MODFLOW code, and its many variants. AGE’s groundwater models are custom-made, using in-house code to build, run and process simulations.

The Role
AGE is seeking a Senior Project Consultant to join our diverse team, predominantly supporting our Brisbane office. Managing groundwater projects across Queensland, this role is field focused, delivering on of a variety of challenging endeavours. The hydrogeological field programs include: hydrogeochemical groundwater sampling, level logger installation and monitoring, falling head tests, drill hole logging and testing, installing monitoring bores and vibrating wire piezometers, packer testing, and pumping tests. Follow up desktop work collating data, analysing results and compiling factual report will also be required. This role will analyse and assess the impacts from resource or industrial projects on groundwater systems; develop or test groundwater supplies; determine dewatering and groundwater control needs around mines and deep excavations; and assess groundwater issues to assist in the development, management, and closure of projects with the potential to contaminate or impact groundwater.
Salary is negotiable, commensurate with experience with a range between $85,000 to $100,000 per year plus superannuation.

You
You will be an established Hydrogeologist, Geochemist, Hydrologist or Environmental Scientist, who enjoys a combination of field work and desktop studies.
With a minimum of 2-5 years of solid experience, independently managing field investigations throughout Australia, you will be proficient in:

- packer testing
- pumping tests
- drill hole logging and testing
- installing monitoring bores and VWPs
- managing baseline monitoring programs including water quality sampling and level logger installation.

Applicants will require a minimum of an honours degree in earth science, geoscience, environmental science, geology or engineering, with a preference for master’s qualifications or higher in hydrogeology or geochemistry.
Your confidence in managing complex field studies and an interest in the challenges of Queensland’s ancient landscape will be complemented by refined interpretive and analytical skills. You will be physically fit with an open, manual driver’s licence, 4WD experience and have availability to undertake field swings for up to 2 weeks at a time.
