Butchers Buffet Chinatown is looking for a senior chef to work for us.

This position is for a full-time role, at least 40 hours + Reasonable overtime a week.

You will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Assist in calculating food and labour costs and ordering food supplies via phone and email or through the supplier's website.
  • Overseeing the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
  • Discussing food preparation issues and solutions with the restaurant managers, kitchen and wait staff
  • Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures, making sure procedures are adhered to such as the delicate process of making food
  • Preparing and cooking food in a timely and organised manner
  • Explaining and enforcing hygiene and food safety regulations
  • Selecting and training staff freezing and preserving foods, making sure the correct procedure is implemented
  • Knowledge of Korean and Asian food.
  • Buffet concept restaurant experience preferred.

A successful candidate would have the following:

Formal training in culinary arts/ commercial cookery; and/or

At least 3 years full-time work experience as a chef (Korean Cuisine)

Salary offered: $77,000 ~ $80,000 + super+ Leaves(Entitlements)
