The Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Human Resource Manager to oversee and manage the full spectrum of HR functions within our organisation. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with employment legislation, driving organisational development, and supporting our workforce in the delivery of care services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate HR strategies, policies, and frameworks in alignment with organisational objectives and NDIS standards.
- Benchmark HR practices to ensure competitiveness and compliance with Fair Work and SCHADS Award requirements.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment, selection, onboarding, and induction programs.
- Oversee employment contracts, job design, and workforce planning to meet organisational needs.
- Provide expert advice on employee relations, workplace laws, grievances, and disciplinary procedures.
- Represent the organisation in negotiations with employees and external stakeholders regarding employment conditions.
- Ensure compliance with the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, SCHADS Award, WHS legislation, and NDIS Practice Standards.
- Lead the development and implementation of performance management systems.
- Identify training needs, coordinate learning programs, and promote professional development across the workforce.
- Ensure compliance with awards and legislation relating to pay, entitlements, and classifications.
- Oversee payroll accuracy, workers' compensation, and leave management.
- Promote a positive workplace culture through engagement initiatives, wellbeing programs, and leadership support.
- Lead and mentor the HR team to ensure alignment with best practices and company goals.
Skills & Experience:
- A bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in HR management, preferably within the community services or healthcare sectors.
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, SCHADS Award, and Fair Work requirements.
- Proven ability to lead HR strategy, manage workforce planning, and ensure compliance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with platforms such as Employment Hero, Shiftcare, MYP, NGO LMS, QuickBooks, and Microsoft 365 is preferred.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, and National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
