About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Technical and Quality Assurance Manager to lead our quality and compliance efforts.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance**: Ensure all food products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards at all stages of production, from raw materials to final dispatch, ensuring compliance with local, state, and national requirements.
**Vendor Quality Management (VQM) System**: Develop, implement, and maintain the Vendor Quality Management (VQM) system in, ensuring it aligns with group needs and regulatory standards. Regularly monitor and measure system effectiveness.
**Audit Leadership**: Lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with the FSANZ Food Code and HACCP standards. Manage audit schedules and collaborate with teams to address findings and corrective actions.
**Food Safety & Supplier Programs**: Oversee food safety management, labelling compliance, and supplier quality programs, ensuring products meet all safety and quality standards.
**Technical Expertise & Training**: Provide ongoing technical expertise and training to team members, ensuring best practices in quality assurance across all departments.
**Customer Complaint Resolution**: Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to product quality, conducting thorough root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions as needed.
**Continuous Improvement & Industry Trends**: Stay ahead of industry trends and innovations in food safety and quality assurance, driving continuous improvement and best practices throughout the business.
**Skills and Experience**:
Tertiary qualifications in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
Extensive experience in a bakery or food production environment is preferred.
Proven experience in food quality and safety documentation and reporting.
Strong understanding of HACCP principles and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Experience in submitting and implementing Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).
Qualified Internal Auditor with a proven track record of working with regulatory agencies.
Prior experience working with FSANZ (Food Standards Australia New Zealand) standards.
Demonstrated ability in developing, maintaining, and enforcing systems and schedules.
Expertise in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for effective problem-solving.
Proficient in the Microsoft Office 365 suite, with intermediate skills in Word and Excel.
Experience with ERP and MRP systems.
Experience working in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
Outstanding organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Proven ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
