About the Opportunity

Hatchit Studios is seeking an experienced
Senior Server Engineer
to support a federal government client. The successful candidate will join an Infrastructure Services team, delivering day-to-day operational support for Windows Server environments while contributing to the stability, security, and efficiency of core ICT services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing support and administration of
    Windows Server operating systems
    .
  • Manage
    Active Directory, Entra ID, DNS, PKI, ADFS, File & Print, DFS, and Group Policy Objects (with AGPM)
    .
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, including
    escalations and major incidents
    .
  • Monitor and patch systems using
    Microsoft System Centre products (SCOM, SCCM/MECM) and Intune
    .
  • Apply
    cyber security controls
    , including whitelisting, firewalls, vulnerability scanning, and device control.
  • Collaborate with the Infrastructure Services team to deliver ICT project outcomes.
  • Maintain clear, concise technical documentation (SOPs, design docs, and procedures).

Skills & Experience Required

  • Detailed Windows Server expertise, including
    Active Directory and enterprise-level services
    .
  • Strong experience in
    SCOM, SCCM/MECM, and Intune
    for monitoring and patch management.
  • Understanding of
    cyber security tools and methodologies
    .
  • Experience with
    Azure IaaS administration
    (template deployment, resource management) – desirable.
  • Knowledge of
    Australian Government security frameworks
    (ISM, Essential 8, ACSC) – desirable.
  • Experience with
    Privileged Access Management (CyberArk)
    and enterprise identity management – desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with proven ability to manage incidents under pressure.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
