Middle Office Analyst

A global financial institution is seeking a Middle Office Analyst to join its Sydney-based operations team. The role focuses on the verification and allocation of trade data across domestic and Asian markets, supporting a range of clients and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Allocate trades executed in the Australian market and across Asia
  • Amend trade allocation details based on client instructions
  • Send time-sensitive trade confirmations and reports
  • Execute FX trades as requested
  • Perform market and internal system reconciliations
  • Maintain and update Middle Office procedures
  • Manage error and warehouse positions
  • Liaise with brokers, clearers, and internal teams on trade and settlement issues
  • Update client records in internal systems
  • Track and resolve operational issues before end-of-day
  • Invoice and maintain records of fees
  • Monitor and record cash transactions
  • Act as first point of contact for trade-related queries
  • Participate in relevant operational or industry projects

Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum 1-2 years of experience in the trade support function in either middle office or back office
  • Proficiency in Excel; understanding of macros preferred
  • Prior experience in financial services is essential
  • Prior experience in trade support, trade settlement or trade equities support function
  • Familiarity with equity trade lifecycle is preferred
  • Experience in an equities brokerage environment is a plus
