About The Opportunity
Inland Rail is seeking a dynamic and proactive Stakeholder Engagement Advisor to join our team on the Illabo to Stockinbingal (I2S) section of the project on a Fixed Term contract until December 2026. In this role, you will provide high-quality stakeholder engagement advice, planning, delivery and review across stakeholder engagement and communications activity.

Key Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Developing and implementing engagement plans
  • Arranging community engagement events including sourcing quotes, booking venues, website updates, graphic design, printing and distributing
  • Developing content for a range of communications collateral including newsletters, e-newsletters, advertisements, posters, flyers, media releases, briefing notes, social media, website and social pinpoint in consultation with the communications team
  • Preparing and conducting presentations for community groups
  • Planning, coordinating, attending and reporting on project events
  • Assisting with contractor management
  • Managing enquiries and complaints including interactive online mapping tools
  • Monitoring and responding to comments on Social PinPoint
  • Managing and maintaining relevant data in the engagement database
  • Delivering project messaging with stakeholders and contractors

About You
To succeed in this role, you will need to be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, capable of liaising and negotiating with a diverse range of stakeholders — from consultants and contractors to community groups and landowners. As a strategic thinker, you should be adept at collaboration and influencing others, able to build positive working relationships, and demonstrate resilience and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the project.

You Will Be Able To Demonstrate

  • Experience in stakeholder and community engagement ideally within infrastructure, transport or logistic sectors
  • Working knowledge and understanding of digital media and digital technologies to support community engagement
  • Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders in politically sensitive environments
  • Build relationships with stakeholders that promote effective dialogue with the Inland Rail Program team
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills including the writing and delivery of strategies, plans and communications materials
  • Highly developed creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with a capacity to change and manage changing priorities
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite at an advanced level
  • Drivers Licence – Class C
