Role Objective

The role is responsible for ensuring all MindChamps facilities—both indoor and outdoor—are safe, functional, compliant, and welcoming, aligning with the highest Work Health and Safety (WHS) and Child Safe Standards. You will oversee the strategic and operational delivery of all facilities services, from day-to-day reactive maintenance to long-term capital works projects, ensuring our physical environment reflects our commitment to excellence in learning and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Inspections & Audits:
Conduct regular, comprehensive inspections of all centres to assess their condition, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and identify areas for improvement. Prepare detailed reports and scopes of work for required maintenance and upgrades.
  • Contractor & Vendor Management:
Oversee all scheduled and reactive works performed by contractors. Manage service agreements, review performance to ensure quality and accountability, and build a network of reliable and high-quality vendors.
  • Safety & Compliance:
Act as the key contact for all facility-related safety and compliance matters. Proactively manage building compliance, statutory inspections, and ensure all centres are ready for Assessment & Rating. Champion a culture of safety across the organisation.
  • Financial Management:
Develop and manage operational budgets for all reactive maintenance, minor works, and lifecycle replacement projects. Prepare business cases and submissions for capital improvements, ensuring clear justification and transparent financial reporting.
  • Capital Works:
Manage minor capital works projects from end to end, including scoping, planning, sourcing quotes, managing approvals, scheduling, and monitoring projects through to successful completion.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with Centre Directors, internal support office teams, and external partners to ensure seamless communication and service delivery.
  • On-Call Support:
Participate in a rotating on-call roster to provide support for any urgent, after-hours facility issues, ensuring timely resolution to minimise disruption to centre operations.

Key Requirements

  • A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a multi-site Facilities Management role.
  • Experience within early childhood education, aged care, or a similar multi-site service-based environment is highly preferred.
