Position summary
The Manager will lead the Centre's engagement with philanthropy to drive funding growth and support programs that improve outcomes for children, young people, and families. This role oversees our philanthropic funders network, actively seeks new opportunities to connect with philanthropic partners, and contributes to grant writing and funding proposals. The Manager plays a key role in delivering the Centre's strategic goals by managing a portfolio of relationships, fostering long-term philanthropic partnerships, identifying new funding opportunities, and leading their successful execution.

Children, Young People and Families Philanthropic Network – Role and Purpose
The Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare (the Centre) leads, facilitates and manages the Children, Young People and Families Philanthropic Network (the Philanthropic Network) as part of its commitment to strengthen the child and family services sector and to amplifier the voice of and advance outcomes for vulnerable children, young people and their families.
Work type: Full Time (1.0FTE) (0.8FTE negotiable)
Term: 12 month contract (continuation subject to funding)
Location: Hybrid work plan – home & Melbourne CBD office
Salary package: $108,000 – $120,000 range per annum, (salary commensurate with experience) & pro rata -if applicable) + regulated super contributions (12%) + tax reducing salary packaging
Key Selection Criteria
The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate their ability to meet the following criteria:
Essential
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proven experience in effectively presenting ideas, project outcomes, and funding proposals to a variety of stakeholders, including funders, internal teams, and external partners, with an ability to engage and influence.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in pursuit of shared goals, fostering collaboration and open communication. Shows respect for diverse perspectives, supports team members, and adapts to different working styles to contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple programs and funding streams.
Desirable
• Desirable experience working in community support, advocacy, or peak body organisations, with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities in these fields.
• Knowledge of program design and delivery, particularly within advocacy or child/family services sectors, with an emphasis on developing effective strategies that achieve positive outcomes.
Qualifications and requirements
• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/ training.
• Familiarity with CRM or grants management systems.
As part of the Centre's commitment to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children employees are required to adhere to our Child Safe practices and policies. The successful applicant will require a current Working with Children Check and will be required to complete a national police check.
