The role 

An opportunity has arisen within our Partnerships & Philanthropy team for a Philanthropy Manager. This is a full-time fixed term position (parental leave contract from December 2025 – January 2027) and is based at our corporate offices in South Brisbane.

As a Philanthropy Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in growing and strengthening the Foundation's network of major donors, Private Ancillary Foundations and philanthropy committees. You'll lead strategies that inspire generosity, deepen engagement, and drive transformative gifts that make a lasting difference for children and families across Queensland.

You'll manage and expand a portfolio of major donors, develop tailored cultivation and stewardship plans, and represent the Foundation at key events to build enduring relationships. Collaborating across teams, you'll help shape impact stories, identify new opportunities, and contribute to our long-term philanthropic vision.

Key criteria

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline and/or demonstrate transferable skills in a similar or related role.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in philanthropy, business development, media/PR, or related fields, with demonstrated success in securing major gifts, corporate partnerships, and media coverage.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver effective donor or partner acquisition and retention strategies.
  • Experience developing and managing a multi-year donor or business development pipeline.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Proven ability to craft compelling, tailored cases for support and high-impact proposals.
  • Skilled in managing relationships with high-net-worth individuals and key stakeholders.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and CRM systems for donor or partner relationship management.
