About the Role

Reports to: Director of Marketing & Communications

Location:Parkville,Melbourne ideally but other capital cities with an NDS office will also be considered

Working Arrangement:Hybrid (at least 1 day in the office per week)

Hours: Full-time

Status: Fixed Term contract until 30 June 2026

This 8-month role supports the Marketing and Communications Team to deliver strategic and high-quality digital communications across NDS's website, social media, and email channels. The role reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications and will also work in close collaboration with the Digital Communications Lead as part of the website redevelopment project.

They will play a key role in developing and maintaining engaging digital campaigns, managing content across platforms, and supporting digital engagement through strategic planning, data analysis, and collaboration. It also includes supporting project teams, and contributing to the development of templates and workflows, with a focus on adaptability and continuous improvement. A strong focus will be enforcing quality control and accessibility compliance across channels. They will also play a key role in contributing to the website redevelopment project.

The role requires a fast learner who is available to start immediately, can quickly adapt to new tools and platforms and hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and publish content across NDS's website (Joomla, CMS).
  • Support staff nationally with CRM usage (Microsoft Dynamics, Marketing Module), including troubleshooting and guidance.
  • Create and send email communications and newsletters using CRM templates.
  • Provide support to the Digital Communications Officer on social media activities
  • Write, edit, and refine digital content for the website, email campaigns, and social media channels, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with NDS's brand and style guidelines.
  • Provide graphic design support using tools such as Canva.
  • Support project teams to develop integrated marketing and communications plans.
  • Assist staff in developing marketing briefs and executing campaign plans.
  • Ensure all digital content aligns with accessibility standards and NDS branding.
  • Contribute to monthly reporting across digital channels.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including State and Territory Managers, Member Services, and Marketing.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Communications Officer on digital content and workflows.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in digital communications across CRM, CMS, social media, and email platforms.
  • Strong team player who is adaptable and enjoys working in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Fast learner with the ability to quickly master new tools and systems.
  • Keen attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and maintain quality under pressure.
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills; ability to simplify complex language.
  • Proficiency in HTML, email building, and marketing automation.
  • Ability to follow and support marketing briefs and campaign plans.
  • Analytical and reporting skills including competency in Google Analytics and social media tracking.
  • Strong problem-solving and stakeholder support skills.
  • Experience with accessible communication methods and standards highly desirable.
  • Proficient in graphic design tools such as Canva, with the ability to produce visually engaging content for digital channels.
  • Basic video editing proficiency using Adobe Premiere Pro or similar tools, suitable for producing short-form or simple edits for digital channels.
  • Experience in nonprofit, government, or disability sectors highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics and Joomla CMS or similar; Office 365, Planner, Teams, and Copilot (AI experience highly regarded).
  • Tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, or related experience.
