Our client requires the services of an internal contractor to fill an AO4 – Human Resources Officer position.
The Human Resource Officer plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, timely operational HR support and advice to Directors, Managers, and staff across the North Coast Region. A key focus of the role is managing recruitment activities, including participating as a panel member to recruit and select for significant infrastructure projects. Working closely with two AO4 HR Officers, you will ensure the region's vacancies are filled efficiently and in alignment with departmental policies and procedures. You will also provide expert advice on workforce management, role descriptions, and compliance with relevant legislation and directives.
In this role, you will independently undertake operational recruitment activities, applying your knowledge of recruitment and selection policies to deliver successful outcomes. You will work closely with selection panels, providing confident and informed advice to guide decision-making, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and uphold fair and transparent processes that align with business needs. Additionally, you will assist with establishment management, remuneration, and conditions, while maintaining accurate HR systems and documentation, such as SAP HR, organisational charts, and FTE reporting. Your ability to prepare and manage HR forms and documentation with precision will be essential.
Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders is a key aspect of this role. You will provide exceptional service, offering advice and support on workforce management strategies, compliance, and process improvements. Your collaborative approach will contribute to a respectful and supportive work environment, while your proactive mindset will help identify opportunities to enhance HR business processes.
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate a strong understanding of relevant legislation, enterprise agreements, and HR policies within the Queensland Public Sector. You will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage conflict and balance stakeholder needs effectively. Resilience, adaptability, and the capacity to prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment are essential, as is your commitment to continuous improvement and teamwork.
