About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Mechanical Estimating Manager to join a well-established contractor in Queensland. This permanent role will see you lead the estimating function across a variety of mechanical and industrial projects, with the chance to influence bid strategy, pricing, and delivery outcomes.

The Role

As the Mechanical Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all estimating activities, from tender review through to submission. You will oversee a small team of estimators, ensure accuracy in costings, and provide strategic input into bids for mechanical construction and maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of detailed and accurate mechanical estimates
  • Manage tender submissions and ensure deadlines are met
  • Review and analyse drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing
  • Provide input on risk, value engineering, and project strategy
  • Mentor and develop junior estimators within the team

About You

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator or Estimating Manager
  • Strong background in mechanical construction, industrial, or resources projects
  • Excellent knowledge of estimating software and Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective leadership, communication, and negotiation abilities
  • Mechanical trade or engineering qualifications (desirable)
